Oral Cancer Screening

Oral cancer screening is done to see signs of cancer in the mouth. This is performed by some dentists on a regular basis, especially if you are at a higher risk. The goal of this screening is to catch any lesions or pre cancerous conditions as early as possible. If detected early, the chances of successful treatment are much higher.
Some factors that increase the risk of Oral Cancer are:

• Tobacco Use
• Alcohol consumption
• Immune deficiencies such as HIV & AIDS

At your Dentist in Brampton we believe early detection is key. Our office is equipped with Velscope that aids in detection of oral mucosal abnormalities.
